Tuesday-Wednesday

Tuesday the rain held off and I did the 14.5 mile loop with Lucas L...about time he got out there!

Telegraph->Sidewinder->Cowboy->South Rim->Big Canyon->Secret River Trail->Animas River Trail->back to sonic parking lot.,

Tonight Jake W. Finally got out there with me and we went up the new trail behind star wars and then down star wars, up through the switchbacks by the hogback and then down over the test tracks, Jake had to go so I turned around and went back up the test tracks and did all of star wars and then came down around the backside again....no stopping, w00t.

Wednesday and Saturady Ride

Wednesday was an interesting ride. Set out with Matt, Tyler, and Jim to do some Horse gulch riding. Matt and I were the only two to make it up Telegraph without touching down...Jim decided we should go down crites instead of our usual route. During the decent down crites I was pedaling in middle ring for extra speed and clipped a rock. I then flew through the air and landed on my side and back, somehow coming up to my feet...it was my fastest crash ever but my injuries were minor. A few scrapes and bruises but not bad enough to end the ride. My hip, back, and shoulder was very sore the next day and even today still has some black and blue's.

My left Candy C pedal is also bent and basically now junk :(

Saturday was hotter then hell. My body felt strong but my efort felt weak due to the heat. I did some of the race course that was setup for Sunday. Telegraph->grandview->cowboy->southrim, up the road to the cowboy crossover to see where the race went, then back down big canyon.

The road between big canyon and cowboy is absolutely destroyed from dozers, lame.

Monday Night - Long ride w/ some night riding

Terry and I set out to do Jones Creek->Pinkerton->Dutch Creek->Hermosa. We brought the lights with just in case we got caught out there in the dark (We did).

The pedal up Jones is brutal but it really makes you feel awesome as you look down the switchback and realize how far you've climbed. Pinkerton is an interesting trail with some crazy downhill followed by hikeabike up hills. Dutch creek was super fun, we ended up turning the lights on before getting out of dutch creek(there were some sketchy technical sections in the dark).

Eventually we hit hermosa and that was uber fun to do with the lights.

Sunday ride

Terry msg'd me this morning asking if I wanted to go for a ride. We ended up doing Telegraph to Sidewinder, off into grand view, finally found the trail that goes down the hospital and three springs condos, this will be good cause now I can ride it with Heather.

Distance was around 13 miles or so. Felt decent, a two day break is definately not what my body likes, going to have to keep it to one day only between rides.

Thursday

Started at the Sonic Trail head with Matt and his son Tyler who proceeded to disappear from my sight within the first 10 minutes, never caught back up to them.

However, I felt pretty good and did all of the upper portion of telegraph in 2nd on front and 2nd in back..or higher. The last section was done in 1-2 as always, made it this time and didn't stop at the bench.

Finished out the ride with sidewinder to cowboy over to south rim and down big canyon, back route 3 to the parking lot...awesome ride.

Tuesday Ride

Pulled into the parking lot and saw Darren waiting for his friend Thomas. Rode with those 2 lads until we got just outside of the meadow area and they decided to Staceys. I went up Telegraph, didn't make the chute again...was very hot out and i felt pretty tired. Went down anasazi and around the meadow and called it for the night.

Hopefully make it all the way up telegraph without touching tonight to redeem myself.

Monday night ride

Tonight i started at the sonic trail head and went up telegraph, felt that my cardio was out of wack after taking a few days off. Still did telegraph in 2nd ring 2nd and 2nd ring 3rd. Didn't make the top of telegraph today, got off track and pulled the tire up.

Terry called out my name right when i was getting off the bike to push the last section of telegraph. We rode together and what a fun ride.

Did Telegraph->Sidewinder->Skull Rock->Up Big Canyon->Up Cowboy->Out Sale barn->Around South Rim->Down Big Canyon->back to Sonic. More than 14 miles overall...not a bad night.

Gulch with Heather

Went riding with Heather yesterday and did the meadow loop. After she was done with that I circled around and did meadow again and added staceys. Only took 20 minutes, stayed in middle change ring 4th gear for most of the ride.

Last two nights

Went for a ride last night. Went up telegraph, down sidewinder and then cowboy to big canyon. Turned off big canyon and went around south rim and then back up crites. Down anasazi and then did stacey's loop to finish out the ride. Making it up crites was a first for me. The gps messed up so no good route map.

Tonight I went with Matt. We did a short ride hitting stacey's and then corchio(sp). Felt good and did most trails in middle chain ring 2nd gear or lower.

Lollipop Loop + High Point ride

After the other night when Clifford and I didn't make it all the way to high point because of the cows I decided to do it today, only starting from Junction Creek instead of Dry Fork. It was a very long ride @ over 3 hours. However, I covered over 19 miles and did over 3500' of climbing which are both records for me.

Felt very sluggish coming up from junction creek. Felt good energy through Dry fork, however, the ass was hurting by then.

The downhill was absolutely amazingly amazing.

Dry Fork to High Point...almost

Clifford and I set out for a ride after work today. We almost made it to high point when we encountered cattle in the road. The 2 Cows blocking the single track didn't look like they wanted to move and I had no idea how they would react to Clifford so we turned around. Good thing we did, Clifford is out of shape and couldn't keep up on the way back.

Felt excellent, lots of power in the legs, did dry fork in a tougher gear then normal.

First day clearing Telegraph

Today I rode from the 3rd street trailhead up Telegraph around sidewinder onto cowboy into big canyon and then took the road back to the Jeep. Met another Mountain Biker just before the top of Telegraph and finished the ride out with him. Lots of fun!

Oh yah and I cleared Telegraph from parking lot to the top without any dabbing!

Felt very strong tonight on the climb.
